“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (John 10:11)
Taking the 3S students to Qannoubine Valley is becoming a tradition at Saint Joseph School. For four consecutive years now, this trip has connected students to their Christian ancestors. 3S students were introduced to their religious heritage: priests and people who hid for years refusing to abandon their faith.
Teachers, along with students, walked down the same path walked by the saints those many years ago. The mesmerizing view of the valley surrounding us served as another manner of drawing our eyes to God, the creator of all. Once we arrived at the church, Father Bou Najm celebrated mass and placed this year in the hands of God. Students then proceeded to the restaurant holding each other’s hands as they performed the traditional “dabke” dance. It was truly an unforgettable day and a wonderful start for the 3S students.
