Power Up Your Teaching!

Saint Joseph School offered its 2nd Professional Development Day for 2024, on the 11th of April, to all its staff members.

Here’s a sneak peek of how the day unfolded:

Fr. Charbel Kharrat, school vice rector, delivered a plenary session that focused on the resurrection of Christ and its impact on our daily lives as educators. Followed by an insightful talk by Dr. Nancy Timonian, vice rector for academics and IB DP coordinator, on AI in education.

Dr. Dany Azzi, Director, LLC & EL Learning, PTF – Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, NDU, kicked things off with a deep dive into the technical aspects of AI in education, explaining in depth its potential and applications within the classroom.

All teaching staff members were exposed to the exciting world of “Prompt Engineering Application” with Mrs. Rachelle Askar in order to study how to create engaging lesson plans tailored to our students’ needs.

Our administrative staff, secretaries and central administration members, sharpened their communication skills and emotional intelligence through dedicated sessions to refine their communication style and build strong relationships with colleagues, students and parents with Waznat, one of the leading career counseling and professional orientation institution in Lebanon.

Supervisors dove with Dr. Claudine Aziz in a “Positive Discipline” session on the 11th and 13th of April,to assist them in creating a nurturing environment for children’s growth and foster a positive classroom environment with effective discipline techniques.

Our Preschool Division staff discovered innovative ways to engage our youngest learners. A dedicated tailored session, “Be the Change”, was designed to equip our teachers with the tools to leave a positive impact on our flourishing students. We thank Fr. Mansour Zaidan and Miss Marianne Hayek for all their efforts.

SJS staff members do not miss any opportunity to elevate their teaching practice and empower our students. We believe in on-going professional development and a big thanks to all presenters for their precious training sessions and professionalism.

We can’t wait to embark on our next exciting Professional Development journey with you all!
