On Wednesday the 19th of October, Grade 9C students went on a spiritual retreat to the monastery of Saydet El Beer in Bqennaya, a holy place filled with tranquility. Our theme was “Who Am I?”. Upon our arrival, we visited the beautiful church where a kind religious nun narrated to us Father Jacques Capuchin’s moving story and his fascinating spiritual journey to becoming a monk. We then sat in solitude to seek our purpose in life and to be able to connect with God. After that, we all sat together to enjoy our lunch. Afterwards, we headed to a lovely church where we participated in a mass. We concluded our day by praying the rosary in front of Saint Mary’s sculpture. We left with hearts full of peace and were all touched by this eye-opening experience.
