SJS Students Shine in April Sports Competitions!
April 2026 has been a month of achievement and celebration for Saint Joseph School, as our students demonstrated exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship across multiple competitions. Their achievements reflect not only their individual dedication but also the strong spirit of teamwork and excellence fostered within our school community.
Football Excellence at Antranik-Naccache Tournament
Our young athlete Kevin Abou Karam (Grade 6D) delivered an outstanding performance at the Antranik-Naccache Football Tournament (Category 2014). Demonstrating remarkable skill and leadership throughout the day-long competition, Kevin’s team secured 1st place and he was deservedly awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title.
Karate Success at the 26th Annual ISKF Shotocup
At the prestigious 26th Annual Karate Shotocup ISKF held at Platea, Jounieh, SJS students impressed with their discipline and competitive spirit:
* Jennifer Khoury (Grade 6A)
* 3rd place in Individual Kumite (Blue Belt)
* 2nd place in Group Kata (12-year-old category)
* 2nd place in Group Kumite (12-year-old category)
* Jessica Khoury (Grade 3C)
* 1st place in Individual Kumite (Green Belt)
* 2nd place in Individual Kata (10-year-old category)
* 2nd place in Group Kata (10-year-old category)
* 2nd place in Group Kumite (10-year-old category)
Basketball Achievements Across Tournaments
SJS students also made their mark on the basketball court:
At the Ballhandlers Basketball Tournament held at La Sagesse, Jdeideh, Michel Rizk (Grade 6E) earned the MVP title in the U12 category, recognizing his outstanding performance and leadership on the court.
At the NYT LIMAR Basketball Tournament at Fouad Chehab Stadium, Jounieh, the SJS Basketball Academy U11 Team claimed 1st place after an impressive victory against NSA Club, demonstrating teamwork, resilience, and competitive excellence. Individual distinctions further highlighted the team’s success, with James Jbeily (Grade 5D) earning the title of MVP of the tournament, Peter Khalife (Grade 5A) awarded Best Passer, and Lucas Matar MVP of the game.
These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our students, the guidance of their coaches, and the unwavering support of their families. At SJS, we take pride in nurturing well-rounded individuals who strive for excellence both academically and athletically.
