As the academic year concluded, the Third Secondary and IBDP2 students of Saint Joseph School bid farewell to their long-time second home. Their final days were a blend of joyful celebration and nostalgic reflection.
Traditions and Reflections
The festivities launched with an energetic water fight, followed by a surprise serving of milk—a touching recreation of their KG1 tradition that bridged the gap between their first and final days at SJS.
The formal farewell began with a proud address from School Rector Msgr. Chady Bou Habib, followed by a Farewell Mass celebrated by Fr. Fadi Najem, the spiritual counselor, with Fr. Maroun Chamoun, the Secondary School Principal in attendance. Fr. Najem reminded graduates that while the path ahead differs from the school’s sheltered environment, their bonds with the SJS community remain unbroken. In a symbolic passing of the torch, graduates handed candles to 2S and IBDP1 students to keep the school’s spirit of faith and success alight.
Connection and Celebration
The transition continued through several key events:
● Legacy Breakfast: The graduating class shared advice and encouragement with the incoming seniors (2S and IBDP1).
● Swings Camp Outing: A final joyful excursion with teachers to strengthen lifelong friendships.
● The Farewell Parade: The most emotional highlight featured a lively procession from the school to Saints Peter and Paul Church. Accompanied by music and cheers from parents, teachers, and younger students, the graduates marched proudly through the streets.
A New Chapter
Closing this significant chapter, the Third Secondary and IBDP2 students depart Saint Joseph School equipped with lasting lessons and cherished memories to guide them in their future endeavors.
