What happens when personal experiences, memories, and ideas are transformed into knowledge?
The IBDP1 students participated in their TOK exhibition on May 26th, where curiosity, perspective, and the power of knowledge were displayed and celebrated. Through carefully chosen objects and deeply personal connections, students explored the ways knowledge shapes our understanding of the world, our experiences, and ourselves.
Each presentation reflected not only creativity and critical thinking, but also reflection, vulnerability, and the courage to share meaningful stories and perspectives. From cultural identity and memory to art, science, personal experience and factual evidence, the exhibition highlighted the depth and individuality of every student’s voice.
Far beyond a traditional academic exhibition, the TOK exhibit became a space for conversation, debate, and interpretation, reminding us that knowledge is never entirely separate from the people who create it, experience it, and question it.
“It was very fruitful, and we got to showcase our different ways of thinking in IB” -Savio Haddad
“This exhibition actually made me think back on moments in my life where I thought I “knew” something, but I never really checked why.” -Chloe El Mir
The exhibition was a proud and inspiring event for SJS, celebrating intellectual curiosity, open-mindedness, and the unique perspectives each student brought to the experience.
