SJS Students Celebrate Outstanding Sports Achievements in June 2026!
June 2026 has been another remarkable month for SJS, with our students continuing to distinguish themselves in a wide range of sporting events. Through dedication, discipline, and perseverance, they have earned impressive results at local and national competitions, proudly representing SJS and demonstrating the values of excellence and sportsmanship.
Gymnastics Excellence
Our gymnasts delivered exceptional performances across several prestigious competitions, earning numerous medals and outstanding rankings.
At the Gymnastics Spring Cup held at Flexzone, Batroun:
● Juliana Habchy (Grade 4A) won five medals and was crowned 1st Overall Champion.
● Sevina Hajj (Grade 7D) earned a Gold Medal.
● Gaya Chaiban (Grade 7F) earned a Gold Medal.
● Jane Chedayde (Grade 8A) earned a Gold Medal.
● Michelle Rita Aouad (Grade 6B) achieved remarkable success by winning three Silver Medals (Vault, Floor, and Beam), one Bronze Medal (Bars), and the Gold Medal Overall in Level 3 – Group 2014.
At the Lebanese Annual Artistic Gymnastics Competition, Mia Maatouk (Grade 4B) delivered an outstanding performance by winning the Gold Medal on Bars, Silver Medals on Beam and Floor, and a Silver Medal in the Team Ranking, demonstrating exceptional skill, consistency, and teamwork.
At the Open Cup Tournament in Rhythmic Gymnastics, held at Nohad Nawfal Stadium in Zouk Mikael, Ruby Baradhe (Grade 6E) earned a Gold Medal in the Clubs event and a Silver Medal in the Ball event, showcasing elegance, precision, and technical excellence.
The Lebanese Rhythmic Gymnastics Schools Competition, organized by the Lebanese Ministry of Education (Wehdat Al Anchita Al Riyaddiyyah Wal Kachfiyyah) in Bir Hassan, brought further success to SJS:
● Seraphina Seropian (Grade 9F) won 1st place and the Gold Medal in all three routines in the Category A Junior FIG division.
● Lilit Akl (Grade 2A) earned 2nd place and the Silver Medal in Category A (2018).
● Kate Abou Karam (Grade 3A) secured 2nd place Overall and the Silver Medal in Category A (2017).
● Kylie Halvadjian (Grade 3E) won 2nd place and the Silver Medal in Category C (2017).
Continuing her successful season, Kylie Halvadjian (Grade 3E) also earned 2nd place and the Silver Medal in Category C (2017) at the AGBU Antranik 4th Open Cup Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition held in Antelias.
Ping Pong Achievements
SJS continued to excel in table tennis through the outstanding performances of Gabrielle Haddad (Grade 9A).
At the Ping Pong Championship held at Al Rabta Hall in Bkenneya, Jal El Dib, Gabrielle claimed 1st place.
She also represented SJS with distinction at the Lebanese Ping Pong Championship, organized by the Lebanese Ministry of Education at Kaaet Nady Al Adab Wal Riyadah in Kfarchima, where she secured 3rd place among 260 participants, an exceptional accomplishment at the national level.
Basketball Achievements
The SJS Basketball Teams representing the SJS Sports Club continued to achieve remarkable success throughout the month, demonstrating outstanding teamwork, determination, and competitive spirit across several tournaments.
· The SJS U9 Boys Basketball Team captured the championship title at the Ballhandler Tournament, emerging victorious against NSA in the final.
· The SJS U10 Boys Basketball Team, earned 2nd place at the U10 Ballhandler Basketball Tournament after a spirited final against Hoops.
· Adding to their achievements, the SJS U10 Boys Basketball Team also claimed 1st place at the Rebound Tournament, defeating Rebound in the championship game.
Tennis Success
At the Louaize Tennis Tournament, held at Notre Dame University (NDU), Zouk Mosbeh, Joe Hassoun (Grade 8F) captured 1st place in the Boys’ Singles Under-15 category. Joe is also a proud member of the Lebanese National Tennis Team, reflecting his dedication and outstanding athletic ability.
MMA Champions
SJS students also excelled in mixed martial arts at the Lebanese Youth MMA Championship 2026, held at IML Sports Club, Lebanon.
● Karl Mokbel (Grade 8A) earned 1st place in his category.
● Eddy Sleiman (1SC) also secured 1st place, demonstrating exceptional determination and skill.
Celebrating Excellence
