SJS Students Shine in July and August Sports Competitions!
The summer months brought continued success and memorable achievements for our talented student athletes. Throughout July and August 2026, SJS students proudly represented Saint Joseph School in prestigious competitions, demonstrating dedication, discipline, perseverance, and a true commitment to excellence.
Artistic Gymnastics Excellence
At the Artistic Gymnastics Lebanese School Competition, organized by the Lebanese Ministry of Education and held at Gymbo in Verdun, Beirut, our young gymnasts delivered outstanding performances.
Selena Sabbagh (Grade 3F) competed in Level 4 – 2017 Age Category, achieving an exceptional series of results:
* 1st Place – Floor
* 2nd Place – Beam
* 2nd Place – Bars
* 2nd Place – Vault
* 2nd Place Overall
Mareine Bou Jaoudeh (Grade 3D) earned 3rd Place on Floor in the 2017 Age Category – Level 1, while Ryan Aoun (Grade 2B) secured 3rd Place in the 2018 Age Category – Level 3.
These remarkable results reflect the athletes’ technical ability, focus, and dedication to their sport.
Fencing Success at the Lebanese Championship
SJS was also proudly represented at the Lebanese Fencing Championship 2026, held at the Lycée Français International, Institut Moderne du Liban in Fanar and organized by IML Sports Club.
Mary Aoun (Grade 4F) achieved an impressive double podium finish:
* Silver Medal – Foil Under 13
* Bronze Medal – Épée Under 11
Her accomplishments demonstrate remarkable skill, determination, and sportsmanship at the national level.
Basketball Champions – SJS Sports Club
The summer was also filled with impressive basketball achievements, with our teams proudly representing the SJS Sports Club and bringing home several championship titles.
Pro Camp Basketball Tournament
The U11 Girls Team won the tournament, earning the championship title, while two players received individual recognition:
* Christy Rizk (Grade 5): Best Defender
* Rita Maria Yasmine (Grade 5): Best Team Spirit
Brainers Basketball Tournament
The U9 Boys Team claimed the championship title after an outstanding tournament performance.
Kahraba Basketball Tournament
Our U9 Boys continued their winning streak, securing another impressive tournament victory.
Ballhandler Basketball Tournament
The U12 Boys Team captured the championship title at the Ballhandler Basketball Tournament, demonstrating excellent teamwork and determination throughout the competition.
Sagesse Basketball Tournament
The U12 Boys Team added another championship title to their summer achievements with a first-place finish at the Sagesse Basketball Tournament.
Don Bosco Basketball Tournament
The U12 Boys Team continued its exceptional summer run by winning the Don Bosco Basketball Tournament and proudly claiming another championship title.
Rebound Basketball Tournament
The U15 Boys Team delivered a strong performance, finishing the tournament as runners-up and earning a well-deserved second-place finish.

From gymnastics and fencing to a remarkable series of basketball victories, July and August were months of achievement and celebration for SJS student-athletes!
These achievements are a source of great pride for the entire SJS community. They reflect not only the talent and determination of our students, but also the dedication of their coaches and the constant encouragement and support of their families.
