September 2026 was another month of remarkable sporting achievements for Saint Joseph School. Our students proudly participated in national and international competitions, demonstrating exceptional talent, determination, discipline, and sportsmanship. From martial arts and basketball to artistic gymnastics, our young athletes continue to make the SJS community proud.
International Sports Achievements
Outstanding Achievements in MMA
At the Lebanese MMA Championship 2026, Karl Mokbel – Grade 9C earned an outstanding opportunity to represent Lebanon on the international stage.
Following his selection by the Lebanese MMA Federation, Karl represented Lebanon in the Youth C Under 44 kg category at the World MMA Championship, held in Abu Dhabi.
This international participation is a remarkable achievement and reflects Karl’s dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence in his sport.
Excellence on the International Stage in Artistic Gymnastics
One of the highlights of the month was the outstanding achievement of Seraphina Seropian –1SD. At the Lebanese and West Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championship, Seraphina was crowned Lebanese and West Asian Champion, earning an impressive 10 Gold Medals, as well as a Bronze Medal in the Asian Championship All-Around Qualifications.
Selected by the Lebanese Olympic Committee, Seraphina proudly represented Lebanon at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy, held from August 21 to September 3, 2026. As the only young junior rhythmic gymnast competing at this prestigious regional Olympic-level event, she had the opportunity to compete alongside elite athletes from across the Mediterranean.
Her participation marks a remarkable milestone in her sporting journey and reflects her exceptional talent, dedication, discipline, and determination, bringing great pride to SJS, her family, and Lebanon.
National Sports Achievements
Gold Medals at the Lebanese Jiu Jitsu Championship
Our students also achieved impressive results at the Lebanese Jiu Jitsu Championship 2026, held at Mont La Salle in Ain Saadeh:
* Jason Farah – Grade 5E: Gold Medal – Under-12 Category
* Joe Farah – Grade 7E: 1st Place – Gold Medal – Under-14 Category
* Karl Mokbel – Grade 9C: 1st Place – Gold Medal in his category
* Eddy Sleiman – Grade 2SB: 1st Place – Gold Medal in his category
These outstanding results highlight the students’ strength, discipline, and determination, as well as their dedication to continuous improvement.
Basketball Success at the Flex Basketball Tournament
The SJS Basketball Sports Club U13 Boys Team delivered an exceptional performance at the Flex Basketball Tournament in Mazraet Yachouh, securing the championship title!
The team’s success was further highlighted by outstanding individual achievements:

* Karl Achkar – Grade 8F: Best Scorer of the Tournament
