Caring for Our Minds, Nurturing Our Wellbeing
At the Upper Elementary Division, two meaningful weeks were dedicated to Mental Health and Wellbeing, creating opportunities for our students to pause, connect, reflect, and learn how to take care of themselves and one another.
Through various activities and conversations, our students explored self-awareness, emotions, positive communication, healthy habits, and coping strategies.
From engaging Mental Health activities and wellbeing brain breaks integrated into classroom learning by our teachers, to interactive Wellbeing Stations with our psychologist, and speech therapist, every activity encouraged students to express themselves, understand their feelings, and discover simple ways to support their wellbeing.
Our awareness sessions, done by our division psychologist, also gave students the opportunity to learn practical strategies for managing emotions and developing healthy coping skills. On October 9, students were also surprised with a special secret message from their supervisors related to mental health, offering them a simple yet meaningful reminder to care for their minds and wellbeing.
These two weeks reminded us that mental health matters, and caring for our wellbeing is a shared responsibility.
