The week of November 20 to 24 at Saint Joseph School-Cornet Chahwan was distinguished by celebrations unlike any other.
Preschoolers enthusiastically celebrated Independence Day all week long with their classmates and teachers. They expressed their immense love for Lebanon through various fun activities such as dancing, singing, decorating the Lebanese flag and preparing a delicious Lebanese traditional breakfast.
These various activities were designed in such a way to enthuse a feeling of patriotism in children, making it forever engraved in our Preschoolers’ minds.
LE also celebrated in a very special way. His Excellency Archbishop Antoine Bou Najem visited the division and interacted with the children. H.E. then signed a pact with the children on the Lebanese flag.
Children also showed their love for Lebanon in various creative activities. Grade 3 children performed a play and LE children of all levels sang patriotic songs and participated in activities, songs, and dances.
As for the UE students, they came together on Flag Day to commemorate the flag that symbolizes the rich history and diverse culture of Lebanon. Dressed in vibrant traditional clothes, the students embarked on a day filled with meaningful activities, fostering a sense of unity and pride. The air was filled with patriotic melodies as students gathered to sing national songs that hold deep significance for the Lebanese people. Our children strengthened their connection to Lebanon's past and embraced the promise of a united future.
Moreover, MS students and staff members joined hands in various joyous celebrations, starting with patriotic assemblies and a homemade “Saj Manouche”, to performing a theatrical play along with an Arabic poetry competition and a “Question pour un champion” challenge, all carrying the theme of unity and patriotism. Not to forget the flash mob event that took place at Spinneys - Mtayleb!
The SS Division organized a lively Lebanese Flag Day Celebration at the theater, organized by the Student Council and Student Affairs Office. After receiving Msgr. Chady Bou Habib’s blessings, students performed a captivating play blending history and modern narratives, a dance, and a live painting session showcasing Lebanese artistry. An animated "History Check" competition among teachers added humor and knowledge to the event. The audience enjoyed a dynamic display of the Lebanese "Zajal,", and the celebration highlighted the spirit of patriotism of the Lebanese people, emphasizing a hope for peace and unity.
Also, the administration celebrated Flag Day in a special way. After praying in the church, all administrators gathered in the conference room and enjoyed fun games: questions about the flag and independence, about Lebanese villages and poets, and about patriotic songs.
All activities and events were not just a celebration; they were a testament to the collaborative spirit, we, as Lebanese people, will forever hope to live together in peace and with unwavering patriotism!
Long Live Lebanon!
