On Thursday, May 16, 2024 Saint Joseph School's Secondary School Division and the Alumni Association teamed up to present a successful event: The Annual SJS SS Career Fair!
The event brought together Saint Joseph School alumni and friends, accomplished professionals in various fields, to share their experiences and insights with our 1st and 2nd Secondary students and the IBDP–Year 1 students.
The event was packed with exploration and connection. The fair unfolded in a dynamic format, with six key segments:
· Focused Sessions: Prior to the fair day, students were asked to select careers that they were interested in. In the first assigned sessions, they had the opportunity to dive deep into these specific fields with representatives who excel in those areas.
· Networking Session: During the break, students and representatives mingled in the Secondary School playground, fostering a casual environment for open discussion and connection.
· Additional Focused Sessions: Following the break, students participated in two consecutive focused sessions, broadening their horizons to other career possibilities.
· Walk-in Sessions: The final segment offered a flexible format. Students could visit different presenters asking about various careers that they did not have the chance to know about during the focused sessions, maximizing their learning opportunities.
This engaging event proved to be a treasure for our students. It provided valuable early exposure to a wide range of professions which might help students begin to chart their academic and professional paths.
The dedicated sessions and walk-in format allowed students to ask focused questions and gain firsthand insights from experts in their respective fields. By connecting with accomplished professionals, our students gained valuable knowledge and were inspired by the diverse possibilities that lie ahead. The Saint Joseph School Career Fair was a resounding success, and we look forward to its continued growth in the years to come!
