Within the awareness programs planned by the Counseling Department at SJS, The Lebanese Red Cross recently conducted a comprehensive first aid training session for students and staff, equipping them with essential life-saving skills.
1S and 2S students attended the session that is part of their CDP (Child Development Program). The intervention covered crucial topics such as wound care, choking response, and how to handle medical emergencies until professional help arrives. Trainers from the Red Cross provided hands-on demonstrations, ensuring participants could practice techniques in real-life scenarios.
Staff members, mainly PE teachers, supervisors, and a selection of administrative members, actively engaged in a separate training, asking questions and practicing first aid techniques under expert supervision. The session not only enhanced their knowledge but also fostered a sense of responsibility towards community safety in general, and students’ security specifically. The collaborative initiative reflects the Lebanese Red Cross’s as well as SJS’s commitment to promoting public health and safety, empowering individuals with the skills needed to save lives in critical situations.
