At the prestigious Al Mawakeb Innovate 2026 event held at Al Mawakeb School - Dubai, the SS AI teacher, Mrs. Sabine Bahry Abou Sleiman, presented an inspiring educational success story: the creation of 87 student-led startup companies developed by 2S and 3S students from Saint Joseph School - Cornet Chahwan
Mrs. Abou Sleiman highlighted how innovation, entrepreneurship, and responsible AI integration transformed classroom learning into measurable real-world impact. Over the past months, students under her mentorship designed and developed startups addressing real challenges in education, sustainability, technology, and social responsibility. The initiative emphasizes the ethical and strategic use of artificial intelligence, not as a shortcut, but as a powerful tool for critical thinking, research, and creative problem-solving.
During her presentation, Mrs. Abou Sleiman stated:
“When young minds are trusted with real problems, real tools, and real responsibility, extraordinary things happen.”
The 87 startups at SJS represent more than academic projects; they reflect a forward-thinking educational approach that builds leadership, resilience, collaboration, and entrepreneurial confidence. Students were guided through ideation, market validation, AI application, business modeling, and professional pitch delivery.
This participation was coordinated with Mr. Rabih Chehadeh, CEO of Slangit Company, whose support continues to connect education with real innovation and opportunity.
Saint Joseph School is taking a bold leap forward by building a living bridge of knowledge that connects students with visionary minds who believe in shaping the future through AI. These students are not simply learners, they are future changemakers, innovators, and entrepreneurs in the making.
Following her presentation, Mrs. Abou Sleiman joined the official jury panel to evaluate 20 entrepreneurship teams representing the three branches of Al Mawakeb School in Dubai competing at the event. Three major awards were presented:
- Best Team Award
- Sustainability Tech Award
- Biggest Social Impact Award
Each winning team demonstrated innovative and responsible use of AI as a strategic tool to solve real-world challenges.
Al Mawakeb Innovate 2026 provided an ideal platform to show how schools can evolve into innovation hubs, where students are empowered not only to learn, but to create, lead, and shape the future.
Special appreciation is extended to Saint Joseph School and Al Mawakeb School for their shared belief in the transformative power of education to inspire innovation and prepare future leaders.
